For the public sector

Welsh language standards were introduced as part of The Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011. The standards provide a legal framework giving individuals the right to receive services through the medium of Welsh.

This is changing public perceptions and expectations – and meeting the standards will be a challenge for many.

What can Ateb do – We provide cost effective solutions to help organisations meet the requirements of the standards in a sustainable way, leaving you with more time to focus and deliver on core objectives and priorities.

For business

The Welsh language is increasingly seen by businesses as a key aspect of corporate social responsibility and a way of defining identity – ensuring they are relevant and credible in the modern Wales.

For business wishing to work within the public sector in Wales, the ability to deliver bilingual services is becoming a core requirement.

And for service based business providing a bilingual service makes commercial sense – providing better service and improving customer loyalty.

What can Ateb do – We specialise in bilingual communications and developing practical strategies for incorporating the language into your business in a meaningful and sustainable way.

For all our clients our experienced team delivers services to the highest standard in a way which is simply packaged and cost effective.

The Team...

Ateb means ‘answer’ – we provide communications and Welsh language support to public and private organisations across a range of sectors.

Ateb is independent and run by directors Rhys Evans and Llinos Iorwerth. We work with clients across Wales and beyond from our offices in north west Wales. With a strong and established track record of working with a wide range of clients we provide guidance on Welsh language standards compliance, policy, bilingual service delivery and communications.

Rhys Evans has 16 years’ experience in senior strategic planning, regulatory compliance, economic and community development roles.

Most recently employed as Head of Corporate Services within the public sector, he has led teams responsible for governance, performance, legal services, Welsh language, internal audit, risk, health and safety, and quality management systems.

A University of Wales graduate, Rhys is also a non-executive director of social enterprise Antur Waunfawr.

Llinos Iorwerth has over 20 years’ experience as a communications professional and has worked both in-house at senior management level and as an independent PR consultant for public and private sector organisations.

A former Head of Communications in the housing sector, she has developed and implemented communications and customer care strategies and led community involvement and customer services teams.

She studied French and Italian at Cardiff University and has a Masters in European Business from Southbank University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
